Recipe

 

Ingredients
Your favorite yellow cake mix in a box (without pudding)
Brown Sugar
Real Butter
Canned or Fresh Pineapples
Canned or Fresh Cherries

 

Directions
1. Prepare the cake mix using the directions on the box.
2. Melt 1/2 stick of real butter in the unit.
3. Sprinkle enough brown sugar in unit to cover the bottom.
4. Layer the sliced pineapples to cover entire bottom of unit.
5. Place a cherry in the center of each pineapple ring.
6. Pour cake mixture into the unit over the pineapples and cherries leaving about 1/2 inch at the top of the
skillet for expansion. You may have some batter left over.
7. Cover unit with the vapor valve closed and cook for 20 - 25 minutes.
8. To check for doneness, open the vapor valve and lift
the cover. Insert a toothpick in the center of the
cake. If it comes out clean, unplug the skillet
and let sit for 5 minutes. If the toothpick is not
clean, replace the cover, close the vapor valve
and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
9. To remove the cake from the skillet, run a knife around
the edges. Place a plate on top of the skillet
and turn the skillet over while holding the cake
firmly in place.
9. Let cool and enjoy!
